Plane crash kills 10 at Uganda airport

KAMPALA -- About 10 people died in a plane crash in Uganda, including three members of the Burundian military, the Burundian army said Monday.

Uganda's national police spokeswoman Judith Nabakooba earlier told AFP that a medium sized cargo plane had crashed at Uganda's Entebbe international airport.

It was a cargo plane which crashed at the Entebbe international airport in Uganda. A radio source told Xinhua that the aircraft caught fire during the takeoff and fell into Lake Victoria.

The police said a team has been dispatched to check the casualties, according to agency's reports.

Entebbe is Uganda's major international airport which is 40 km south of the Ugandan capital Kampala.
