In a clip which has scored almost 450,000 hits on video-sharing website YouTube, Joerg Kachelmann had already begun telling viewers how freezing it was set to become when a tail is seen snaking around his legs.

The Swiss-born meteorologist tries to ignore Lupin but the four-year-old obviously wanted some attention, so Kachelmann picks him up and finishes his show while holding his feline forecasting buddy.

"Our studio cat is also here, without permission," the 50-year-old is heard to say. "It looks like... it will stay reasonably wintry this weekend, and hopefully cats have a thick coat for the night-time."
