BUDAPEST - Hungary eased restrictions on some large industrial gas consumers from 0830 GMT on Thursday, MOL's gas transmission arm FGSZ Foldgazszallito Zrt said in a statement.

"Considering the uncertain state of resources and weather forecasts, the network operator FGSZ can again impose the restrictions (on the second category of users) if necessary," the company said.

Earlier FGSZ said gas consumption dropped on Wednesday and was expected to come in at 60-62 million cubic metres on Thursday, below earlier levels.

Russian gas supplies via Ukraine to Hungary stopped on Tuesday.
