Kim Jong-il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), has conducted inspections of Korean People's Army (KPA) units, the state-run Rodong Sinmun daily reported Sunday.

Kim inspected the command of KPA Unit 323 Saturday and also KPA Air Force Unit 1017, the date for which was not mentioned in the report.
Kim called on the army to inherit the revolutionary spirit proposed by the late president Kim Il Sung, the founding father of the DPRK.
He also urged soldiers to increase their combat capabilities and become stronger in ideology.
Rodong Sinmun also carried three photos of Kim's inspection tours along with its report.
Since the beginning of December, DPRK state media has reported on a number of Kim's inspection tours to factories, institutes and KPA units.
