Earthquake hits Mindanao, Philippines

HONG KONG -- An intense earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale rocked Mindanao, Philippines, at 0325 GMT Thursday, the Hong Kong Observatory said in a news bulletin Thursday.

The epicenter was initially determined by the Hong Kong Observatory to be at 5.8 degrees north latitude and 125.5 degrees east longitude, about 150 kilometres south of Davao, Philippines.
