LIMA-- Bolivian President Evo Morales on Tuesday met more than 200 disabled children and promised them medical and rehabilitation services, according to news reports.

Disabled people should get more opportunities for social development according to the new Constitution, Morales said while meeting the children in La Paz.

A referendum on the Constitution will be held January 25

"It is a national government's obligation to attend the demands of the most displaced, more abandoned sectors of our population," Morales said.

"The minors from this sector of the society not only need a toy or a Christmas bread, they need rehabilitation," said Health and Sports Minister Ramiro Tapia

The new Constitution has made a priority of helping the disabled gain a normal life, Tapia said.
