BANGKOK– A blast occurred at Bangkok's main international airport on Wednesday, emergency services said, while local television reported that it was a grenade attack that injured three people.

A Bangkok emergency medical official confirmed that there had been an explosion at Suvarnabhumi Airport, which anti-government protesters stormed on Wednesday night, forcing it to close.

"We are compiling the details now," the official said.

Two local television stations said a grenade was fired at protesters and that three people were wounded.
