Dog drives van through cafe window

Updated: 2008-11-21 13:31 While some dogs may be content with a walk, one mutt in Long Island is more inclined to go for a drive. Bentley, a portly boxer-shar-pei mix, was left in a van by owner Bryan Maher, while the musician ran into a cafe for a drink. But as he queued inside, he noticed his Ford van moving toward the Long Island shop. "I left my car running because it's cold outside and I didn't want my dog to freeze," Mr Maher told the Daily News on Thursday. "The next thing I knew, I looked up to see my van coming at me in the window. How the dog actually set the parked vehicle in motion remains a mystery, but the van crashed into the cafe window. No one was hurt in the accident – even Bentley emerged unscathed. "Bentley was wagging his tail afterward," cafe owner Patricia McCarthy said. |
