Kim visited a sub-unit of KPA Unit 534 and KPA Unit 2200, the report said. It didn't mention where and when the inspections took place.

"He was greatly satisfied to see all of the soldiers fully prepared politically, ideologically, physically and in military technique to be capable of beating back any surprise attack of the enemy in time and of firmly defending the socialist motherland," it said.

The KPA has grown to be an army strong in idea and faith, Kim said.

He emphasized the importance of the army's daily training and of building modern entertainment, educational and service facilities in barracks.

It was the second reported appearance of the DPRK top leader in November. State media reported that Kim watched a football match on Nov. 2.
