PRAGUE -- An ultralight plane crashed near Dolni Trebonin, south of the Czech Republic, killing the two-member crew, regional rescue service head Marek Slaby said on Sunday.

After crashing in a field, the plane caught fire, the Czech News Agency CTK said.

Firefighters put the fire out but they could not help the pilot and the other man any more, CTK added.

"The plane belonged to a company seated in Ceske Budejovice," Regional police Director Jiri Matzner said.

The cause of the crash is not immediately known.
