Updated: 2008-07-25 10:27 WASHINGTON -- Three students were wounded by an unidentified shooter at a community university in Phoenix, Arizona, Thursday. According to a report by the TV 5 in Phoenix, the shooting happened late afternoon at a computer lab of the South Mountain Community College.
The two victims, a 22-year-old female student and a 25-year-old male student, were still in critical situation, while the third one, a 17-year-old boy, was in stable condition already, officers added. A witness told the TV 5 that he saw the shooter fighting with someone else in the hallway of the campus building before he shot randomly when there were 30 to 40 students in the area. "I guess he was just mad at the world," he added. An electronic sign was set up outside the university, saying that all classes were canceled at the day and students could leave calmly, the report said. The university is home to more than 8,000 students each year, most of whom are seeking two-year degrees. |
