SEOUL  -- US President George W. Bush will visit South Korea early next month as scheduled, according to an official from Foreign Ministry Friday.

The official, speaking informally to South Korea's Yonhap News Agency, said "the US president will visit here next month, while he is here to attend the Group of Eight summit in Japan."

Some South Korean officials had said early that Bush may delay his trip here if anti-government protests continue.

The official also said that US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice plans to visit Seoul next weekend to discuss the agenda for the summit between US President George W. Bush and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, the first since their Camp David summit in the outskirts of Washington.
