Japan's GDP growth at 4 pct in Q1

Updated: 2008-06-11 11:22 TOKYO -- Japan has revised its economic growth from a preliminary 3.3 percent to an annualized real 4.0 percent in the first three months of 2008. On a nominal basis, Japan's gross domestic product (GDP) advanced 0.5 percent, or an annualized 1.9 percent, from the previous three months, compared with the preliminary 0.4 percent and 1.5 percent growth respectively, said the government Wednesday. In fiscal 2007 (April 2007-March 2008), the country's real GDP grew 1.6 percent, up from an initially reported 1.5 percent. In nominal terms, the economic growth stood at 0.6 percent, unchanged from the preliminary figure. |
