Penguins covered in oil are seen in a truck after they were found on several Uruguayan beaches near Piriapolis, about 100 km (62 miles) east of Montevideo, June 10, 2008. At least one hundred penguins and other sea birds appeared on several beaches in Uruguay covered in oil, most of them dead. The Greek merchant ship Syros suffered a fuel leak after colliding with the Maltese vessel Sea Bird on June 4 and Uruguayan authorities are analyzing the situation as oil remains began to appear on the beaches.
