4 killed in blast near Danish embassy in Pakistan

Updated: 2008-06-02 16:36 ISLAMABAD -- A blast occurred near Danish embassy here on Monday and four people were confirmed dead, local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported. The area of the blast has been evacuated and ambulances are rushing to the site, said the report. The explosion took place near the Danish embassy in F-6 sector in Islamabad, leaving a large crater at the site. Four people were confirmed feared dead in the blast and some others including foreigners were injured. Ambulances are sending the injured to nearest hospitals, according to DAWN NEWS. The death toll is likely to rise as the conditions of some injured were stated to be critical. Some cars parked near the embassy of Denmark were destroyed in the blast and the buildings inside the embassy were also damaged. |
