HAVANA - Fidel Castro said Saturday that his meeting with visiting Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez had been splendid.
In his column Reflections of Comrade Fidel published Saturday, Castro said he talked with Chavez for a long time like they were two brothers.
He said he would not reveal what they talked about as he had done in the past, adding that the contents of their conversation would be made public only with Chavez's consent.
Meanwhile, in a brief speech telecast on Cuban national TV, Chavez said he was happy to see Castro's improving health condition.
The Venezuelan president said Castro was healthy, active in mind, insightful and full of wisdom.
Chavez arrived in Havana late Friday at the invitation of Fidel Castro's brother, current Cuban top leader Raul Castro, after attending a summit of the Rio Group in the Dominican Republic's capital Santo Domingo.
