CAIRO -- US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived here early Tuesday to start her new Middle East tour.

According to Egypt's official MENA news agency, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will meet and hold talks with Rice during the visit on the latest Middle East developments especially the situation in the Palestinian territories.

Rice will also meet with her Egyptian opposite number Ahemd Abul Gheit on the latest developments in the region and efforts topush forward the peace process, MENA said
