Universiade MPC to be put into use on Aug 9th

The 26th World Universiade Main Press Center (MPC) will be put into use on August 9th, providing 24-hour news service for over 4200 registered reporters from different countries and regions worldwide. On August 7th, the reporter experienced various soft and hard facilities in the MPC.

As seen by the reporter, the MPC is located on the first and second floors of the Unviersiade Main Media Center (MMC), covering an area of 150,000 square meters. A press photographer workshop is set on the first floor, consisting of 84 photography positions. The lobby service area provides all media staff with interview consulting, translating, transportation and lodging service, etc. The business service area is also located on the first floor, with facilities including a bank, telecommunication service, a post office, a supermarket, and a souvenir store. The workshop for text reporters is on the second floor.

Two news conference halls are located on the first floor. The big one seats 400 while the small one seats 60, both satisfying different needs. The official cooperating media work area is also located on the first floor, and 20 domestic and foreign medias will be reporting on the Universiade here.

The media restaurant located on the underground provides Chinese cuisine, and can provide dining for 320 people. The media restaurant located on the second floor mainly provides western and Muslim style cuisine, and can provide dining for 260 people.
