The Universiade Village Polyclinic will be officially opened on August 1st and closed on August 26th, which is expected to provide free medical services for more than 20,000 registered card holders.

Enter from the North Gate of Universiade Village, turn left to walk about 300 meters, and here we are, at the Universiade Village polyclinic. This polyclinic is 3-floor high, located in the International zone of Universiade Village, close to International Plaza and religious services center, with an area of about 2500 square meters.

During the Universiade, polyclinic is the only medical service station opening to the card holders inside the Universiade Villagel providing basic medical services, emergency medical services, transfer services and emergency support for more than 20,000 people including the athletes in Universiade Village, coaches, team officials, staff of Universiade Village and the volunteers.

The medical teams of the polyclinic are mainly dispatched by Shenzhen Second People's Hospital, with a total of 265 medical personnel 253 of which are this hospital’s backbones, and other 12 are acupuncture and massage physicians selected from other hospitals. Polyclinic will be officially opened on August 1st and closed on August 26th. During this period, the daily service time of all sections will be 8:00-23:00, except that emergency calls and first-aids section is 24-hour on duty. During the Universiade, all medical services the polyclinic provides are free of charge.

Integrated with the functions of hospital emergency and general clinic, polyclinic could provide a wide range of health care service and ambulatory care to the patients including first-aid (without the need of an over-night stay). With the experiences in organizing sports competitions and climatic characteristics of Shenzhen, the polyclinic will mainly deal with athletes’ injuries, gastrointestinal disease, pink eyes, tumbling injury and dental disease.

It is estimated that the polyclinic is capable to receive approximately 600 patients each day. In light of experiences in the Beijing Olympics and Guangzhou Asian Games, the reception capacity of the polyclinic will meet the needs in Universiade Village.
