Gunter Pfau, the head of FIFA and UEFA affairs at Adidas, unveils a mock model of the new chip-in-ball before a news conference in Yokohama, south of Tokyo December 13, 2007. The technology, jointly developed by Adidas and Cairos Technologies, uses a magnetic field to provide real-time feed back to a central computer, which tracks the location of the ball implanted with a microchip, on the field and send the data directly to the refrees' watch, assisting the officials' decision in determing when and if the ball has crossed the goal line.
