The autobiography, serialised in the Daily Mail's Weekend magazine, describes the actress's humble upbringing in Essex, still being a virgin at 18, then making up for lost time with a string of men.

But she still kept a few secrets back.

In a BBC TV interview with Jonathan Ross last week, she revealed that she had a "terrifying" drug trip after taking LSD in her twenties.
