Siming district integrates film industries and urban functions to boost economy

At the GRIFF Industry Opening Ceremony and Xiamen Cultural Film and Television Industry Project Signing Ceremony held on Nov 11, Siming district achieved high-quality promotion in investments, with a total of 50 projects worth 11.45 billion yuan ($1.61 billion) signed, among which 26 projects are valued at 100 million yuan each.

Covering film and music arts, cultural technology, and cross-Strait cooperation, these initiatives drive growth across the industrial chain by leveraging the "Film and TV Plus" model. The signing lists not only include major projects with high value, but also cover a batch of emerging projects with profound potential.

In recent years, Siming district has made the most of the China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival to facilitate the development of the film industry and form industrial chains, accelerating promotions and releases, holding film events and exhibitions, and integrating education and industry. 

According to statistics in 2024, there have been 319 cultural enterprises above designated size in Siming district, with revenue amounting to 132.89 billion yuan, ranking first in Xiamen. 

Siming district has also held four major events, including the "Amoy Starlight Concert", capitalizing on film hype for sustainable tourism growth.
