Guide for the 2015 China (Shanghai) International Youth Football Invitational

11-player system

III. Eligibility of players

1. Each team shall be comprised of players from the same city of a country.

2. Each overseas team shall consist of at least 18 foreign players with no more than 4 oversea Chinese players.

3. Age Requirement: All players shall be born on or after January 1, 1997.

4. All players on any given team must be currently registered students from schools located in the same city.

IV. Rules and regulations

1. The latest version of FIFA Laws of the Game and related provisions of the Chinese Football Association shall be followed.

2. Match Ball: Size 5

3. Team Equipment Each participating team must be equipped with two team uniforms (one in dark color and one in light color). The goalkeeper's uniform shall be visibly different in color from that of other players. The players must wear football boots and shin guards. Captains must wear a captain's armband.

4. Duration of Each Match Each match shall last 90 minutes, comprising two periods of 45 minutes, with an interval of up to 15 minutes between the two periods.

5. Registration for Each Match Each team is allowed to nominate in the match sheet twenty-two (22) players including eleven (11) substitutes. However, each team is entitled to only five (5) substitutions.

6. Way of Scoring

1) 3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.

2) Teams with greater points rank higher in the group stage.

3) If two or more teams in the same group have equal points, the following criteria are applied, in the order given, to determine the rankings:

- Greater number of points obtained in the matches played between/among the teams in question;

- Superior goal difference from the matches played between/among the teams in question;

- Higher number of goals scored in the matches played between/among the teams in question.

If, after having applied the above criteria, teams still have an equal ranking, then the following criteria shall apply, in the order given:

- Superior goal difference in all group matches;

- Higher number of goals scored in all group matches.

If the teams still have an equal ranking after having applied the above, then a drawing of lots shall take place to determine the ranking.

7. Forfeit and Refusal to Play

1) If a player who falls under any of the following descriptions plays in a match, the team which the player belongs to shall be deemed to have forfeited that particular match.

a. The player is not duly registered;

b. The player is under suspension;

c. The player involved in an arbitration procedure and clearance is pending for playing the matches.

2) A team shall be deemed to have refused to play under any of the following circumstances.

a. The team fails to play a match as scheduled other than due to force majeure and without the approval by the Organizing Committee and further refuses to play any make-up match or rescheduled match as arranged by the Organizing Committee;

b. The team refuses to resume a discontinued match within five minutes upon the request of the referee of that match;

c. The team withdraws from a match before its completion.

3) Scoring for Forfeit and Refusal to Play

a. If one team has forfeited or refused to play a match, the opposing team shall be awarded a 3-0 win, or greater, depending on the actual score of the match, if any.

b. If both teams have forfeited or refused to play a match, both teams will be awarded zero points for such match.

c. If a team abandons a match without any reason, the team shall be disqualified from the tournament and all its scores will be invalid.

8. Punishment

1) A team which is over 15 minutes late with no reason and doesn't attend the match on time will be considered to have forfeited the match and sentenced to a 0:3 loss.

2) The players who are given a yellow card twice or given a red card directly by referee in a match will be suspended for one match if no further punishment is imposed by the committee.

3) In a match, if a player is given a red card for two yellow cards, the yellow card is not cumulative.

4) In a match, if a player having a yellow card is then given a red card, the yellow card is cumulative.

V. Match sepervisors, feferee assessors and referees

The match supervisors, referee assessors and referees shall be appointed by the Organizing Committee of the China•Shanghai International Youth Football Invitational 2015.

VI. Awards

1. The top three teams will be awarded trophies and gold, silver and bronze medals accordingly as well as souvenirs.

2. All participating teams will receive certificates and souvenirs.

3. The awards of "Best Player", "Best Scorer", "Best Goalkeeper", "Best Coach", "Best Referee", "Best Team Manager" and "Special Contribution Award" will be given by the Organizing Committee with corresponding credentials and souvenirs.

VII. Reception and funding 

1. Each team shall be responsible for their own round-trip international travel expenses, medical costs and the relevant insurance costs (e.g. for policies covering international traveling, accidents, etc.)

2. The Organizing Committee will provide for food, accommodation and transport for the duly registered members of each team during their stay in Shanghai (limited to the official duration of the tournament). The food, accommodation and transport for any additional personnel of a team will be the team's responsibility.

3. The Organizing Committee will provide shuttle bus services for players' training and competition and other activities during the tournament in Shanghai.

4. The Organizing Committee will also provide drinking water and on-site medical assistance for the players during the matches.

5. insurance for the participating players will be bought by the Organizing Committee.
