It appeared that few real job hunters turned up at a recruiting site in the city of Fuzhou, Fujian province's capital, on Feb 17, after the Lantern Festival (15th day of the Lunar New Year), on Feb 14, which is usually a peak period for job seekers. Surprisingly, not too many people came to take a look around this year, in spite of the fact that many enterprises were taking part in the drive. The municipal Human Resources and Social Security Dep't reported that as many as 328 enterprises said they were in need of workers after Spring Festival, as many as 38,800 people, in fact, although that was a 4,900-drop over last year.
