The Xinjiang government announced on Feb 11 that it will inject 1.8 billion yuan ($297 million) into increasing the region’s employment rate and creating 450,000 new jobs by the end of 2014.

Zhu Jian, deputy director of the Xinjiang Public Employment Services Bureau, commented that the employment rate is closely linked to economic development and people’s livelihood.

The government will adopt new policies and incentives to support labor-intensive industries and subsidize companies that hire a certain number of college graduates.
