Dabu ceramic industry develops steadily

The output of the ceramic industry in Dabu county, Guangdong province,during the first nine months of the year, reached 1.3 billion yuan ($212 million), accounting for 76 percent of the total planned output of the year, according to the Dabu ceramic production office.

Since the beginning of the year, the county has been working on developing its ceramic industry and the construction of the Gaobei Ceramic Industrial Base, in addition to efforts concerning product innovation and cultivation of talents. The county has also made efforts to market itself as a tourist destination with a focus on its ceramics industry.

Dabu is recognized as the area where blue-and-white porcelain originated and the local authorities hope the ceramic enterprises will build their brands and maintain a sustainable development.
