Hailing a taxi can be a headache for tourists in Qingdao during the Qingdao International Beer Festival. As a warm reminder from the organizing committee of the festival, Qingdao citizens and visitors can order a taxi by using an app called Didi Dache (嘀嘀打车).

This app is available in Android, iOS and Windows phone systems. Visitors give out voice messages describing where they are and where they want to go through the app. Drivers who are using the app within 5 kilometers can reply to the voice order and contact the visitors.

Didi Dache is free to download. During the Qingdao International Beer Festival, new users who register the app and succeed in ordering a taxi will be charged 10 yuan ($1.64) extra on their phone bill.

Didi Dache functions in 15 cities in China to date, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Nanjing, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Xiamen, Qingdao and Dalian.
