Yuan Zaiqing, president of the China Convention and Exhibition Society, said during an interview on May 28 that CNEA Expo (China-Northeast Asia Expo) has been upgraded to a national exhibition with international brand influence.

Yuan said that the organizers of the expo strive to improve its core competencies. As a government-led exhibition, the expo focuses on improving its marketization and internationalization based on government investment. The core competence of a government-led exhibition is its customer resources, such as exhibitors, suppliers and buyers. Last year’s expo attracted domestic suppliers and buyers and also specifically invited suppliers and buyers from other countries and regions. Through trade communication in China and other Northeast Asian countries, the expo has promoted its capabilities in marketing, social and cultural exchanges and branding.

Yuan said the high quality of the exhibition can boost domestic and global recognition, which will draw more participants, and that the expo has also facilitated the economic development of Jilin province. In addition, the supports of the Ministry of Commerce and other national departments, especially the approval for the upgrade from the State Council, have allowed the expo to develop. Provinces in northeast China also offer much timely assistance. In addition, Jilin has a professional and effective organizational team for the CNEA Expo with an international perspective.

He said that the expo needs to continue improving its core competencies through the development of its marketization, internationalization and specialization, and to maintain its vitality by cultivating its own buyer and supplier teams.
