"After it changed its name from China Jilin Northeast Asia Investment and Trade Expo last year, CNEA Expo (China-Northeast Asia Expo) has become a national and international exhibition in the Northeast Asia region, that includes trade shows, conferences and forums," said Chen Zeyan, vice president of the China Convention and Exhibition Society, on May 28.

Chen said that Jilin province, which hosts the expo, is the geographical center of Northeast Asia, and it will play a core role in cooperation between China and other Northeast Asian countries and regions.

The expo is a platform that includes resources for Northeast Asian countries and regions to strengthen their communication and cooperation.

Chen said that the exhibition industry, a sector of the service industry, is closely associated to a country's economic development, and added that as China is developing its economy, culture and ecology, the industry has promising prospects to facilitate the country's development.

He said that the expo this year has made meticulous preparations to follow the regulations and also to use its eight years of experience to make improvements according to changing circumstances. The vice-president also said that the expo will make great achievements.
