Main activities

Exhibitions, trade and economic cooperation, conferences and forums, and cultural exchanges

1. Exhibitions

The Changchun International Conference and Exhibition Center has 3,000 standard booths in its 70,000-square-meter exhibition area, displaying a wide variety of commodities with high-quality and high-end characteristics, new technologies and famous brands. The center will also promote the policies, environment and projects of investment and cooperation. All the indoor booths will be specially installed.

No 1 Pavilion: The Northeast China Old Industrial Base Revitalization Pavilion

The pavilion will showcase the achievements of the past 10 years of development in the revitalization of Northeast China’s old industrial base, including the significant breakthroughs in the innovation of systems and mechanisms of China’s reform of State-owned enterprises, the expansion of Northeast China’s opening-up, the improvement of infrastructure, the development of life in urban and rural areas, as well as the base’s plans for the 12th Five-Year Plan and China’s opening-up to Northeast Asia.

No 2 and No 3 Pavilions: Hong Kong Commodity Pavilion

The pavilion will display high-tech electronics, creative designs, luxury goods and cosmetics.

No 4 Pavilion: Taiwan Commodity Pavilions

The pavilions will exhibit food, electronics, light industrial products, culture and creativity commodities, and award-winning commodities from Taiwan.

No 5 Pavilion: Northeast Asia Commodity Pavilion

The pavilion will display electronics, textile, food, healthcare and medicine products, as well as special cultural products and derivatives of Northeast Asian countries.

No 6 Pavilion: The Pavilion of Investment and Cooperation

It promotes the image, environment, policies and projects of China’s national economic and technical development zone, China’s national high and new technology industrial development zone and the Changbai Mountain development zone. It displays the general conditions, such as environment, policies and projects, of development zones in Jilin province.

No 7 Pavilion: Modern Service and Emerging Industry Pavilion

It displays the latest projects and products in the modern service industry such as domestic and overseas travel services, finance and insurance, logistics transportation, IT & communication services, overseas project contracting operations and export of labor services, cultural education, legal services and service outsourcing. It also displays high-end technology and products in the emerging industry such as domestic and overseas electronic information, energy conservation and environment protection, new energy resources, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing and biology.

No 8 Pavilion: Food & Medicine Pavilion

It displays domestic and overseas food, medicine, and famous and special commodities.

Outdoor exhibition area for large mechanical equipment

It exhibits domestic and foreign construction machinery (including machinery for excavating, road construction, stirring, loading, snow cleaning and fork trucks), transportation vehicles (including engineering vehicles, pick-up trucks and passenger cars) and agricultural machinery (including power machinery, farmland construction machinery, animal husbandry machinery and agricultural transport machinery).

2. Trade and economic cooperation

(1) The trade of commodities

The CNEA Expo will hold an international buyers convention and invite a wide range of domestic and foreign large buyers, suppliers, and exhibitors to have face-to-face communications. It will also organize matchmaking activities during displays of goods, information exchange and negotiation. The expo will be more effective for purchasers to explore more purchasing channels and lower cost, and suppliers will enlarge their markets through interaction between purchasers and suppliers, setting up a commodity trading platform between China and Northeast Asian countries.

(2) Trade in services

The 2013 China (Changchun) International Service Outsourcing Conference will invite domestic and foreign dignitaries, scholars and well-known entrepreneurs to discuss a group of issues, such as the development of service outsourcing, the current situation of the sector at home and abroad, and opportunities and challenges. It will provide an opportunity for cooperation projects release and matchmaking.

(3) Investment cooperation

The expo will host matchmaking activities on economic cooperation projects to highlight regional pillar industries, expand industrial clusters and extend industrial chains. It will continue to organize the Northeast Asia Investment Cooperation Seminar and matchmaking activities for key industries.

Various activities, such as the 2013 EU - China (Jilin) Investment and Trade Fair and Theme Day for Northeast Asian countries, will invite all kinds of investment and financing institutions at home and abroad to participate in improving the effectiveness of investment and cooperation.

3. Conferences and forums

High-end conferences and forums will be held to strengthen communication and cooperation among governments and enterprises of Northeast Asian countries as well as improve their cooperation with other countries of the world.

(1) The Seventh Northeast Asia Cooperation Forum will be held to discuss the major issues on investment and trade convenience, construction of channels, logistics, science and technology, and finance. It will continue to invite national leaders, ministers and vice-ministerial officials from Northeast Asian countries to deliver speeches and communicate with each other.

(2) The organizing committee of the expo will host promotion events with various government organs and organizations, including the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission, to expand exchanges and cooperation between Northeast Asian countries.

(3) The CNEA expo will strengthen its cooperation with a group of well-known institutions, such as the Europe - China Entrepreneurs Association, the Asia-Pacific CEO Association, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and People's Daily, as well as sponsor a forum on the development of China's private economy in Changbai Mountain and other professional, high-level meetings and forums.

4. Cultural exchanges

The CNEA expo will continue to organize a group of cultural exchange activities, including the Northeast Asia Think Tank Forum, large public talent exchanges, and Northeast Asia legal forums to further promote cultural exchanges and cooperation and build brands of cultural exchange and cooperation among the countries of the region.
