The 2012 China (Chengdu) New Energy International Summit & Exhibition will be held on Nov 11 and 12 in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province.
Themed "the challenges and opportunities under the background of industrial upgrading", the event will host three forums, an industrial promotion and project signing ceremony, and several exhibitions.
The summit, as one of the largest and highest-level events in the new energy industry in China, has contributed to the signing of more than 30 projects, with a total investment of 34.4 billion yuan ($5.5 billion).
Annually held since 2008, the summit has witnessed the development of Chengdu's new energy industry.
Following the Chengdu government's strategic deployment of the city's development, the city's Shuangliu county has been developing its new energy industry since 2008. Today it has grown into one of the leading new energy industry hubs in China.
To date, Shuangliu has signed agreements on 53 major projects with renowned new energy companies at home and abroad, with total investments of 82.7 billion yuan ($13.2 billion).
The annual sales revenue of the county's new energy industry has increased over 30 fold in the past four years. It is expected to reach 100 billion yuan ($16 billion) in 2015 and 200 billion yuan ($32 billion) in 2017.
