Since 1995, the Fortune Magazine has organized eight Fortune Global Forums. Among the eight forums, three of them chose their location in China. Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing. are the hosting cities.

The fifth Fortune Global Forum was held in Shanghai from Sep. 27 to 29 in 1999. Its theme was "China: Future 50 Years".

The seventh Fortune Global Forum was held in Hong Kong from May 8 to 10 in 2001. Its theme was "The New Generation of Asia".

The ninth Fortune Global Forum was held in Beijing from May 16 to 18 in 2005. Its theme was “China and new Asian era”.
