China Motorboat League kicks off in Liuzhou

The second China Motorboat League (CPL) will kick off on May 5, 2012. About one hundred contestants from 9 teams with top-level wave racing skills will compete on Jinglan Waters.

With excellent sport traditions and spirits, Liuzhou has bred many world champions, like gymnastic champion Li Ning, table tennis champion Xie Saike. Relying on advantageous Liujiang River, lots of high-level domestic and international competitions have been held in Liuzhou, such as China Motorboat League, International Aquatic-Speed Competition (IAC).

Gradually a complete system of water sports events takes shape in Liuzhou. The competitions held on Liujiang River drive the development of industry of motorboat. The first amateur motorboat team was formed in Liuzhou, and aquatic clubs are set up along the beautiful Liujiang River.

The Liuzhou government is advancing some projects to vitalize the tourism industry, such as Liuzhou exotic port, sightseeing tour on waters. Combining the competitions with the festival events and city brand, the government takes the advantage of various domestic and international competitions to establish an incomparable platform for aquatic competition. Besides, the development of city infrastructure, sport industry, and tourism industry vitalize the city.

The move that holding sports game and competitive fitness not only propel the economic development of Liuzhou, but also motivate national fitness, and improve the livelihood of residents. Through holding the important international sports competitions like the CPL and ICA, Liuzhou becomes famous nationwide.
