Development history of Chengdu’s high-tech developmental zone

In November 1996, the technological innovation service center of Chengdu’s high-tech developmental zone was established.

In August 1998, Chengdu’s high-tech business incubator for overseas students kicked off.

In January 2000, Chengdu’s PhD student Innovation Park was launched.

In August 2001, the innovation center of western Chengdu’s high-tech industrial zone was established.

In April 2003, the technological innovation service center of Chengdu’s high-tech developmental zone was integrated with the former innovation center of the western Chengdu high-tech industrial zone.

In October 2003, Chengdu’s high-tech incubation park was put into operation. The headquarters of the innovation center settled in the high-tech incubation park.

In April 2004, the software park of Chengdu’s digital entertainment was founded in Chengdu’s high-tech incubation park.

In July 2004, the national software industrial base (Chengdu) was moved into Chengdu’s high-tech incubation park.

In July 2004, the industrialization (Sichuan) base of national information security achievements was moved into the Chengdu high-tech incubation park.

In December 2004, Chengdu’s high-tech business incubator for overseas students was approved by the Overseas Chinese Federation as a demonstration base for developing the country through science and education.

In April 2005, the Chengdu digital entertainment software park was approved by the General Administration of Press and Publication as a national online game, comic and animation industrialization base.

In May 2005, the Chengdu digital entertainment software park, as bear unit of the Chengdu software industrialization promotion group office moved into the Tianfu Software Park.

In June 2005, the Chengdu digital entertainment software park was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a national digital media technology industrialization base.

In August 2005, the Chengdu high-tech developmental zone was responsible for constructing and managing the Sichuan base for the national 863 program software incubator and the Chengdu industrialization base of national integrated circuit design.

In October 2006, the Chengdu high-tech developmental zone was approved as the Chinese College Student Innovation Park by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, Chinese Academy of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, and National Association of Students.

In November 2006, the EU Program Incubation Center (Chengdu) was founded in the Chengdu high-tech developmental zone.

In November 2007, the Chengdu high-tech developmental zone successfully held the 2007 China (Chengdu) – EU Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Cooperation and Project Incubation Forum.

In September 2010, Sichuan and Singapore officially signed the Singapore-Sichuan Innovation Technology Park, a milestone project in cooperation between both sides. The project is located in Chengdu’s high-tech developmental zone, with an area of 10 square kilometers in its first stage. The main objective is to construct an aggregation quarter of high-tech industrial innovation in West China and a landmark industrial park for cooperation between the two countries.
