Shanghai Dazhong Transportation Group donated 500,000 yuan to Yushu, Qinhai province at the Expo Qinhai Pavilion on May 31 to help the quake-hit area build Hope primary schools.

The donation was presented to the representatives of teachers and pupils from Yushu at a ceremony co-sponsored by the Shanghai Juvenile Development Foundation and the Dazhong Company at the Expo Garden.

Most of those invited to visit the Expo before Children's Day were wounded by saving people from the earthquake, said Lin Ping, a spokesman from Dazhong.

"Their love for life and their confidence in re-building homes have greatly impressed Dazhong employees," Lin said.

At the donation ceremony held at the Qinhai Pavilion, Dazhong Chairman Yang Guoping also presented them stationery and Expo mascot Haibao boys.

During their stay in Shanghai, they will tour the city's Songjiang University Center, the New Bund, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and other scenes.

Dazhong has already set up several Hope primary schools in Inner Mongolia and Tibet. It signed an agreement with the Taziba Middle School in Dujiangyan, Sichuan province after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake to raise one million yuan for re-building schools.
