Strategic partnership with Blackstone
The US Blackstone Group has injected a total of $600 million to acquire a 20 percent stake in ChemChina.
The China Bluestar Group was launched, becoming the first State-owned enterprise in China to introduce a strategic partner through a non-listing method.
Ren Jianxin became the president of the group and Leung Kam-chung, Blackstone's China president and Ben Jenkins, Blackstone's private equity executive, became vice president and executive director of the group.
