A migrant worker on his way to the U.S., Galindo was ran over by a train in Mexico on 2005 and lost his left leg. According to a local migrants organization, thousands of Central Americans -predominantly from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala- cross Mexico's southern border to the U.S. every year on a train popularly known as "the train of death", during which many die or get seriously injured falling off from crowded trains.
