Low-flying planes scare citizens in NYC

Is it a bird? No, it's definitely a plane.
These remarkable photos show jets coming into land at a New York airport, looking as if they are just feet above passing traffic.
The aircraft was on the final approach to the city's LaGuardia airport in Queens.
The pictures, showing two US Airways jets and an Airtran plane, were taken within approximately 30 minutes of one another from a busy road in the borough.
An onlooker said: "It can be pretty scary when you see these things going so close overhead.
"They were probably several storeys above the traffic but seemed lower."
In one of the images, Manhattan's Empire State Building can be seen in the background, from the spot in 23rd Avenue in Queens where the pictures were taken on March 26, 2010.
