1.Thousand Miao Villages Xijiang

The Thousand Miao Villages Xijiang, as an important reserve of the primitive culture of the Miao ethnic group, is about 260 kilometers from Guiyang (贵阳) municipality and is composed of 10 natural villages built along the mountain. It boasts the biggest compact village of the Miao in China.

The wooden houses are built along the mountain, so they are imposing when seen from afar, especially at night when every house has turned on its lights creating an enchanted scene similar to stars in the sky.

Garments and silver ornaments are typical features of the Miao.

When wandering in Miao villages, everything appears quite beautiful with its own charms, such as the old stone street, serene alleys, houses built along the mountain, the babbling water in the crystal river and Miao girls singing on the Wind-Rain Bridge.

2.Denon Tunpu
According to records, when Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty deployed troops from the north to guard the southern regions, troops stationed here were from the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions of the Han ethnic group, and it was renamed “Denon Tunpu” by Confucian scholars. People are descendants of the troops stationed during the Ming Dynasty.
Stone houses are a major feature of Denon Tunpu and many people can be seen wearing Ming Dynasty-style garments and selling them as handicrafts. The local old people live their lives in peace.

3. Snacks

Guiyang is a paradise for foodies and its snack street on Erqi Road in Hongtong township gathers food of different flavors from around Guizhou and boasts to be the food landmark in Guiyang. In this narrow street are delicious snacks enjoying a high reputation in the whole Guizhou province, including “slices swaddled baby” (vegetable slices wrapped in thin pancake like a baby in swaddling), delicious roasted chicken wings, crispy fried duck and snail meat. Even hearing these names will make your month water and their tasty flavors will give you a feast.
