Tragedy of 'comfort women'

Tragedy of 'comfort women'

Zheng Jinnu had blood streaming down her legs.

Zheng Jinnu was born in Lingshui county, Hainan province, in 1928. She was captured and forced to be a "comfort woman" for Japanese troops at the age of 12. Later, she was returned to her family after her health broke down.

"All along the way, there was blood streaming down my leg. When we passed by a river, the Japanese soldiers told me to wash myself with the water. I washed again and again, but the blood kept dripping down and the river was dyed red."
