Comment on "Rescuers race against time," ( April 17, China Daily)
Each disaster in China reminds the government to make more efforts to improve the quality of buildings, medical service and infrastructure construction.
Every earthquake exposes the poor quality of buildings that may be partly responsible for the loss of lives. By checking collapsed school buildings, people always ask: "where are the steel bars, and why not use them more in the buildings to make them more substantial?"
More earthquakes may continue hitting China. If the natural disasters are unavoidable, we should try our best to minimize the losses from them. The government should pay more attention to the construction of buildings to save more lives.
