Doctors need support

Comment on "Poor patients dicing with their lives" (March 13) and "Getting there on time: Behind the '120' service" (April 7, China Daily)

China Daily's reports on the medical and healthcare industry and some of the loopholes in our national healthcare system are illuminating. However, positive reports such as the "120" service, can also lead to a better understanding of our medical system.

Simply covering the bad will exacerbate the already strained doctor-patient relationship. Doctors, as a special group of social service providers, need understanding and support.
