New logistics enterprise opens in Xinjiang

Xinjiang China-Europe Joint Logistics unveiled its plaque in the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Urumqi city, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on Dec 27.

The company was jointly funded by the Development Zone's Construction Investment, Huatie Lianda Logistics and Xinjiang Daluqiao.

The company will engage in international freight and shipping, said general manager Liu Shiqing.

To date, 113 trains have traveled westwards since the first Xinjiang-Central Asia international freight train was launched in March, 2014.

"International freight trains such as Xinjiang- Russia (Moscow and Chelyabinsk) and Xinjiang-Georgia have operated smoothly, and the Xinjiang-Turkey freight train has completed tests." said Ren Pengji, vice director of the autonomous region's Economic and Informatization Commission.

Local government and Party officials jointly unveiled the plaque.
