Exhibition delegation from the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region signed cooperation contracts worth 41.82 million yuan ($6.60 million) at the 6th China Green Food Exposition.

Of the contracts signed, 19 million yuan accounted for flour, 16 million yuan for honey and 6.82 million yuan for other commodities.

The contracts represented a successful showing by enterprises at the 16th China Green Food Exposition, which was held from Oct 29 to Nov 1 in Xi’an, Shaanxi province. The total amount of sales conducted at the expo was 2.9 billion yuan ($45.90 million).

This year’s expo featured 914 exhibition booths and 1,700 enterprises, displaying products relating to the fruit, vegetable, tea, beverage, grains and oil markets.

Since it was first held in 1990, the China Green Food Exposition has become China’s largest green food trading fair. To aid the expansion of the market, the expo became an annual event in 2009 after being ratified by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China.
