The 2015 Eurasia Commodity and Trade Expo will open on Aug 12 in Urumqi, the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The expo aims to “build a Silk Road business platform to advance mutually beneficial cooperation between Asian and European Industries.”

It is expected to help Xinjiang become a core area in the Silk Road Economic Belt.

According to the organizing committee, the 2015 EACT Expo embraces the principle of proficient specialization through small-scale yet well-represented exhibitions.

This includes two themed exhibitions: one on the textile and garment industry and the other on agricultural products and food. There will also be three special topic exhibitions: a Xinjiang wine exhibition, a jade and jewelry crafts exhibition and overseas exhibition.

The expo will cover an area of 42,000 square meters, and will utilize seven halls of the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Urumqi.

The organizing committee said it will provide excellent services and achieve the target of “an industrial exhibition with professional standards staged by a professional team of specialists.”

According to the organizing committee, so far, 33 provinces are participating in the expo, and 16 provinces have adopted policies to encourage local enterprises to attend the expo.

There are 312 registered companies from 36 countries and regions participating in the overseas exhibition.

During the expo, industry forums will be jointly sponsored with the China National Garment Association, the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Textiles and Apparel, the China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuff and Native Produce, and the China General Chamber of Commerce.

The forums are expected to help promote trade and make investment more effective.

The organizers have promised to provide high quality services for exhibitors and buyers.
