Urumqi State High-tech Industrial Zone sent a delegation which included the newly listed Xinjiang Delan Co to Kyrgyzstan for the 3rd Issyk-Kul Economic Forum and a commodity product display of the “Belt and Road Initiative” countries held from July 20 to 24.

Several cooperation memorandums and a substantial purchasing contract were signed between Urumqi and Kyrgyzstan. The delegates also attended the economic forum's other activities including a round table for industrial zones.

The round table was a sub-forum to promote understanding among different industrial zones. Urumqi is endeavoring to help construct the Silk Road Economic Area. Since the city proposed an alliance between Central Asia's industrial parks in 2005, the total number of the member parks has grown to 54, 38 of which are national-level high-tech zones.

Urumqi signed a cooperation contract with Kyrgyzstan in 2013 promising to seek more opportunities for companies of both sides.
