Greenland Group starts new project in Xinjiang

The State High-tech Industry Zone in the city of Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, held a foundation stone setting ceremony for its Greenland Town project on June 25.

Chen Jun, vice president of Greenland Group – the project's investor – addressed the ceremony. Chen said that the group will invest at least 30 billion yuan ($4.83 billion) in the project.

On a ground space of 733,333 square meters, the project will see the construction of financial centers, conference and shopping areas, hotels, entertainment facilities and housing estates.

In response to Chen's announcement, Qiu Shuhua, the zone's secretary, promised that the zone would create a better environment and provide qualified services to ensure the success of the project.

Greenland Group was founded in 1992 and is headquartering in Shanghai. It engages in the real estate industry, especially in the fields of developing high-rise buildings, complex buildings, business districts and industrial parks. The group has projects in more than 80 cities across China.
