An exhibition called The Long Story between Human and Plague is currently underway at the Liaoning Provincial Museum in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, according to local media reports.

The exhibition -- which opened on May 18 and runs to July 19 -- is being supported by the National Cultural Heritage Administration and hosted by Art Exhibitions China and the Liaoning Provincial Cultural Performing Arts Group.

It is being organized by the Liaoning Provincial Museum and Liaoning Provincial Library.

Comprising three sections, the exhibition shows that infectious diseases have always dogged the development of human civilization and with the advancement of biological research and medicine, it underscores how humanity has accumulated experience and knowledge to fight pandemics.

One section has been designed to tell stories of the people's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, showcasing the anecdotes of medics, volunteers and ordinary people during the outbreak.

The exhibition aims to guide people to look objectively at the relationships between humans, infectious diseases and nature, according to the organizers.

They said it will go on tour at cultural venues and museums nationally, with the Liaoning Provincial Museum as the first stop.
