The Shengjing Grand Theatre in Shenyang, capital city of Northeast China's Liaoning province, was comprehensively disinfected on May 31, amid preparations to reopen its doors to audience, according to local reports.
Shenyang Poly Grand Theatre Management Co Ltd, the operator of the theater and Shenyang Blue Sky Rescue jointly carried out the disinfection work.
More than 20 team members from Shenyang Blue Sky Rescue disinfected public areas -- including the concert hall, opera hall, multi-function hall, stages, dressing rooms, auditorium, ticket hall and washrooms -- ensuring that each corner was cleaned and disinfected, in order to ensure the safety of viewers and performers.
Theater officials said that the theater was closed to the public after its last performance on Jan 22. They said that over the last few months, it has been disinfected every day and equipment and facilities have been maintained in good condition.
Officials said that while the precise date and time of the reopening had yet to be determined, they were currently preparing for a performance in July.
They added that following the reopening, the theater will stage charity performance for medics who offered help in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, which initially bore the brunt of the novel coronavirus epidemic in the country.
Also invited are those who worked in the front line in Shenyang hospitals, as well as community workers, police officers, volunteers and their families.
