Construction of a new park called Sino-German Park started on May 31 in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, according to local reports.
The park, covering an area of 383,000 square meters, is located in the China-Germany Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park and is a major infrastructure project in the area.
Officials said that the park is located on the southeast side of Kaifa 22 Road and Hunhe 24 Street and is being built as an urban ecological park.
They said pre-construction work started on March 22 and the park is currently under earthwork construction and its northern area is being planted out.
The first stage of the park is expected to be completed by the end of December 2020, they added.
The park includes five functional zones, namely a central lake area in the central section, a leisure area in the northern section, a sightseeing area in the eastern section, a wetlands area in the western section and a cultural exhibition area in the southern section.
